Women in Communications Scholarship
Baker Public Relations, a full-service communications firm, and Certified Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE), created the Baker Public Relations Women in Communications Scholarship to help elevate female students interested in pursuing a career in the communications industry.
The agency’s President and CEO, Megan Baker, is a champion for the professional advancement of women and seeks to provide financial assistance to empower local students to pursue their passion through higher education.
In honor of our 15th year, Baker is proud to announce the creation of the Women in Communications Scholarship. This $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to two female students per year, one from Butler High School in Butler, PA and one from Shaker High School in Colonie, NY, who plan to pursue an education in communications or journalism. Megan Baker was a graduate of Butler High School, and her twin girls are members of Shaker High School class of 2025.

Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the Baker Public Relations Women in Communications Scholarship, applicants must:
– Be a current female high school senior in the North Colonie (New York) or Butler Area (Pennsylvania) School District.
– Intend to declare a major in a communications-related field at a four-year or two-year college or university.
– Demonstrate involvement in school and community service activities.
– Have a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.0.
How to Apply: Butler High School
Scholarship Application Form can be requested from the Student Services Center.
Provide two letters of recommendation from academic, extracurricular, or professional references.
Provide a personal letter describing their interest in the communications industry and their career goals.
Submit all completed materials to the Student Services Center who will refer the top three candidates to Baker Public Relations for final recipient selection.

Provide a personal letter describing their interest in the communications industry and their career goals.
Submit all completed materials to the school guidance counselor who will refer the top three candidates to Baker Public Relations for final recipient selection.
