TROY, N.Y.Capital City Produce LLC, the Capital District’s largest distributor of New York state produce, celebrates 10 years of partnering with local farms to provide fresh-cut, quality food products and exceptional customer service.

The four-generation business is expanding and relocating from Menands to a 25,000-square-foot facility at 3 E. Industrial Parkway in Troy. Prior to the move, the company operated out of three separate buildings. The new warehouse will streamline all staff and products under one roof. It also includes more shipping and receiving doors and larger office space.

Capital City Produce has 40 years of experience in the brokerage sector and 20 years in the processing, wholesale and repacking sectors. Owner John Karrat donates thousands of pounds of produce to his community, working with nonprofit organizations including Capital Roots, Feed Albany and Feeding New York State.

“Success is not given, it is earned,” said Karrat. “I am proud to follow in the footsteps of my grandfather and my father, who showed me firsthand the value of hard work. I want to set the same example for my two sons, who now work full-time with me. Our family and our business are committed to continuously improving the quality and safety of our products and service and our newest expansion will ensure we can do that for decades to come.”
