Woman-owned agency adds key positions to support client needs in both locations
ALBANY, N.Y. – Baker Public Relations, a full-service communications firm and New York State-Certified Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE), today announced it has expanded its operations, opening an office on the South Side of Pittsburgh, Pa. The Greater Pittsburgh Region is the hometown of Founder and CEO Megan Baker, a communications/media graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
“We’ve had our sights on Pittsburgh due to the ongoing revitalization and diversified workforce. The timing was right this year as we plan for continued steady growth over the next few years,” said Megan. “Having grown-up north of the city (Butler), Pittsburgh pride is in my blood. I’ve always had a soft spot for the ‘Burgh,’ people, neighborhoods, sports teams, restaurants, attractions and culture. We look forward to becoming a part of the community and helping businesses and organizations realize their goals through creative storytelling and innovative communications.”
Baker Public Relations has hired two new team members to support client needs from startups to Fortune 500s across multiple industries — Pittsburgh native and sports and entertainment specialist Jim Lachimia, and content writer Leah Rostohar. Jim will also help grow and manage the Pittsburgh team.
Jim Lachimia’s background includes 30-plus years in communications with the Pittsburgh Pirates, The Rooney Sports & Entertainment Group, and his own company JFL Resources. He is a graduate of Duquesne University and resides in Seven Fields, Pa.
“Megan Baker is a dynamic person and talented professional. I’m extremely pleased to become a key part of the Baker Public Relations team. We have a lot of exciting things in the works,” said Jim.
Leah Rostohar will work out of the Albany office and most recently served as producer of “Your Morning Albany” at Spectrum News, a 24-hour television news station owned by Charter. She also served as internship coordinator for the station overseeing the hiring of interns for three separate semesters. Leah earned a bachelor’s degree from Ithaca College, where she majored in Journalism.
To support the agency’s growth, Baker Public Relations is actively hiring in the Pittsburgh area and seeks hard working and resourceful PR professionals to join its team.
