Albany, N.Y. — Baker Public Relations, a full-service communications firm and New York State-Certified Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE), is named a Ragan 2021 Media Relations Awards finalist. Ragan’s awards program celebrates the most successful campaigns, initiatives and teams in the communication, public relations and marketing industries.
Baker Public Relations was selected as a finalist in the Virtual Event category for the Farewell to 2020 Virtual Parade on behalf of the Albany Capital Center (ACC).
The Media Relations Awards program chose finalists who told powerful stories, protected their organization’s reputation and navigated uncertainty during the pandemic while delivering success for clients.
Located in the heart of downtown Albany, the Albany Capital Center provides state-of-the-art convention, ballroom and meeting space with on-site parking and top-notch amenities. During the pandemic, the Albany Convention Center had more than one dozen events cancel. The staff turned to Baker Public Relations for direction on how to assist nonprofits during a time when no one was able to hold large-scale fundraisers.
Baker Public Relations recently expanded its creative services and video production capabilities and presented the idea of a Farewell to 2020 virtual parade and fundraiser. Through strategic execution, Baker Public Relations exceeded sponsorship expectations, garnered impressive media coverage and video viewership which saw a 5,000 percent increase in typical video views. The virtual fundraiser brought in more than $15,000 for local nonprofits.
