COPAKE, N.Y. – Baker Public Relations, a full-service, woman-owned communications firm in Albany, N.Y., has been selected as agency of record for Camphill Village Copake.
Camphill Village is a community for adults with developmental disabilities and service volunteers, founded in Copake in the 1960s as part of a transformative movement in our country to change how society treated people with special needs. Today, more than 100 Camphill communities exist globally, immersing villagers and volunteers where they live and work together as equals in extended families, living off the land and learning important life and trade skills.
Baker Public Relations will serve as strategic communications partner to the Volunteer Development Department of Camphill Village Copake and will be instrumental in expanding awareness of the Village and its mission, with a view to promote volunteer recruitment and media presence, both domestically and internationally.
“Baker Public Relations is honored to be working with Camphill Village Copake and appreciates the opportunity to bring the stories of the Village, its volunteers and its residents to a wider audience,” said Megan Baker, president & CEO, Baker Public Relations. “We are inspired by their values of community inclusion and individuality, and will look to bring these distinctive virtues across in our work on behalf of the Village.”
“We are excited to partner with Baker Public Relations as we look to grow our Village and attract new and qualified volunteers,” said Nicoline Autrey, volunteer admissions coordinator, Camphill Village Copake. “We believe Baker Public Relations can greatly assist us in this mission and we are eager to put their expertise into practice.”
Every year, Camphill Village welcomes dozens of volunteers age 19 and over from around the world to stay for a year – often longer – and become a member of its rich and vibrant community life. For more information on volunteering, visit www.camphillvillage.org.
