Albany, NY – Consumer Directed Choices (CDChoices), a nonprofit corporation providing payroll and administrative services to seniors and people with disabilities who manage their own home care, thanked local nonprofit employees for their service to the community with free coffee on National Nonprofit Day.
In partnership with Stacks Espresso Bar, CDChoices handed out up to 100 medium cups of hot and iced coffee at the shop’s location on Broadway in downtown Albany Thursday morning. The event was an opportunity to show appreciation for nonprofit employees, as well as to build relationships and bolster their networks.
“As a nonprofit, CDChoices is proud to support the dedicated and compassionate nonprofit employees who work tirelessly to benefit the Capital Region community,” said Christopher Graber, CDChoices Chief Executive Officer. “A cup of coffee is a small way to give a big thank you and remind these women and men they are valued and appreciated.”
Not only do nonprofit employees deliver essential services, but they also play a critical role in the state’s economy. According to a report from the Office of the New York State Comptroller, nonprofits provided more than 1.4 million jobs in 2017, making the Empire State the leader in the nation in the number of people employed by nonprofits.
