Transitions Opens Enrollment for 2022 Summer Immersion Programs Experience equips young adults with autism and learning differences with tools to succeed Gloversville, N.Y. & Albany, N.Y. – Transitions, a program of The Arc Lexington that prepares teens and young adults with autism and other learning differences with the tools to succeed in building a career and a life of independence, announces open enrollment for its Summer Immersion Program. The program will be held at both the Mayfield, New York and Albany, New York locations.

Started in 2015, the Summer Immersion Program offers a fun and exciting opportunity for students to learn valuable skills in areas like safe, independent living; socialization; meaningful relationship building; and employment and career planning. Students are then taught how to apply these skills in real-world situations.

Transitions experiences are filled with activities that bring students closer together in a carefully structured, nurturing and supportive environment, designed to help them create lasting friendships with like-minded peers.

“Keeping a young adult engaged and interested is the best option for future success,” said Penny Rivenburg, Transitions’ senior director. “One of our summer students has now completed her Bachelor’s degree and is working in her field. Another came with little ambition and left with specific goals in place. That student is now in his second year at a job he truly enjoys.”

Students can opt into a two or three-week session.

Two-week sessions:

· July 3 – July 15, 2022

· July 24 – August 5, 2022

Three-week sessions:

· June 26 – July 15, 2022
